LIVE STREAM DELLA PROVA FINALE
It promises to be a great night of music in the final of the 62nd Gian Battista Viotti International Piano Competition, Saturday, Oct. 29 at City Theatre of Vercelli at 20.30. The three candidates will perform concerts of Rachmaninoff, Liszt and Tchaikovsky with the Orchestra Sinfonica Carlo Coccia conducted by Alessandro Ferrari. The three finalists, results from a selection of three preliminary rounds which was attended by 55 competitors from 20 nations, are the young Ukrainian Illya Zuyko, Russian Alexey Lebedev and Artem Yasinskyy (Ukraine).
The Final round will open at 20.30 with the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in B flat minor, Op 23 by Tchaikovsky in the interpretation of Artem Yasinskyy. Followed by Alexey Lebedev will perform the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in C minor, Op 18 by Sergei Rachmaninoff. The third star of the final evening will be Illya Zuyko, sixteen years old. He will perform the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No.1 in E flat minor by Franz Liszt.
The jury, chaired by the pianist and teacher Gabriel Turkeys (France) is composed of Masters Bogino Konstantin (Russia), Pietro Borgonovo (Italy), Roger Lagana (Italy), Richard Trythall (USA), Mi Kyung Kim (South Korea) and Cominati Roberto (Italy). The Viotti Competition is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Vercelli, the Ministry for Culture and the Arts, the Piedmont Region. Contribute to the achievement of the cassa di Risparmio di Vercelli and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Torino. The first prize of 15000 euros Piano Competition established by the Foundation Cassa di Risparmio di Vercelli, is named after Joseph Robbone founder of the Viotti Competition. The second prize of 5000 euros is offered by the city of Vercelli and the third prize of 3000 euros is offered by the Piedmont Region. They will also be awarded the prize of 1000 euros Sisters Garino, the audience prize and the prize of 1000 euros of Soroptimist of Vercelli in the award-winning pianist woman more deserving of encouragement.
Sunday, October 30, at the Museum Borgogna will be held in conjunction with part of "The Art is heard," the concert of the laureates of the Viotti Competition in 2011, an event that traditionally follows the conclusion of the musical event of Vercelli. General admission: € 5.
The first prize will play also at the Academy Philharmonic Nov. 2 in Casale Monferrato, in Rome on 4 November, and December in three concerts with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Belgrade, in Vercelli, Crema and Genoa. Other important scriptures are planned in 2012.
