EMANUELE ARCIULI

Emanuele Arciuli’s repertoire ranges from Bach to contemporary music, with a strong affinity for composers from the United States. He regularly performs at major concert halls and festivals, such as the Berliner Festwochen, Wien Modern, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Teatro alla Scala, Biennale di Venezia, and Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. He has collaborated with international orchestras including the Rotterdam Philharmonic, MDR Leipzig, Tonkünstler Orchestra Vienna, Saint Petersburg Philharmonic, and the RAI National Symphony, working with conductors such as Roberto Abbado, Andrey Boreyko, Dennis Russell Davies, James MacMillan, and Juraj Valchua.

Considered a leading interpreter of 20th and 21st-century music, he has premiered over fifty works composed expressively for him by authors such as George Crumb, Milton Babbitt, Frederic Rzewski, Michael Nyman, and John Luther Adams. His extensive discography for labels like Chandos, Stradivarius, Wergo, and Naxos includes the anthology “Walk in Beauty” and a CD dedicated to George Crumb, both of which received Grammy Award nominations. A dedicated author, his books include “Musica per pianoforte negli Stati Uniti” and “Viaggio in America”.

In 2011, Arciuli was awarded the Premio Franco Abbiati, the most prestigious Italian music critics’ prize, and in 2023 he was appointed Accademico di Santa Cecilia. He is a professor at the Conservatory of Bari, teaches contemporary music at the Accademia di Pinerolo, and is a frequent guest professor at numerous American universities.
