PIANO 2023: Jury
Giorgia Tomassi, who grown artistically at the Imola Piano Academy under the guidance of Franco Scala, came to the fore on the international scene in 1992 with her victory at the Arthur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv. She has performed in important Italian and international halls and has been partner of prestigious musicians such as Martha Argerich, Salvatore Accardo, Domenico Norio, Geza Hossu Legocky, Michele Battista, Roberto Cominati, the Ensemble Wien-Berlin, Danilo Rossi and Alessandro Travaglini. For EMI, she has recorded Chopin’s Etudes, Nino Rota’s Piano Concertos with the Filarmonica della Scala conducted by Riccardo Muti, and many other pieces related to the “Martha Argerich Project” in Lugano in which she is regularly invited. Since 2010 with pianists Carlo Maria Griguoli and Alessandro Stella she has undertaken a lasting artistic partnership in a piano trio formation, The Pianos Trio, participating in all editions of the “Martha Argerich Project” and appearing in the seasons of the most important concert institutions in Italy and abroad.
