MIO SASAKI

 

Mio Sasaki has won first prize in several international competitions, including the Luigi Nono International Chamber Music Competition and the Saar International Violin Competition. In 2013 she received the cultural honor of the city of Hirakata, Osaka. She has performed with orchestras such as the Hamburger Symphoniker, the Opera Studio Symphony Orchestra of the National Academy of Music in Lviv, the Orchestra Bazzini Consort, the Master Orchestra Verona or the Kammerorchester der Großregion. She has performed in concert at the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle in Hamburg or the SR-Sendesaal in Saarbrücken. Since 2019 she has been studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg with Prof. Christoph Schickedanz. In 2024 she graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Studies at Osaka University, Italian language department. Sasaki plays on a violin by Antonio Pelizon (circa 1825) kindly granted for use by luthier Christian Erichson.
