PIANO ACCOMPANISTS
PIANO ACCOMPANISTS
The role of the official pianists for the Viotti International Singing Competition is to accompany the singers through all the preliminary rounds. Their task consists of performing the piano reductions of the operatic scores and concert arias, ensuring complete musical support for the entire program, which ranges from opera to vocal chamber repertoire.
From the First Round to the Semifinal, the commitment of Achille Lampo and Alfredo Castellani will be continuous and fundamental.
It is unquestionable that creating the necessary musical rapport in such a short time and guaranteeing an accurate performance requires an exceptional professional level and an extraordinary adaptability to the different styles and personalities of the competitors. The two pianists, who are themselves concert artists and educators, are among the finest interpreters of this role in Italy.
THE PIANISTS

Alfredo Castellani
A pianist and educator, he graduated in piano from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Turin with top marks and special mention, subsequently refining his skills at the École Normale A. Cortot in Paris. He regularly collaborates with important musicians in chamber music (including Pascal Moraguès and Cecilia Gasdia) and in original projects with writers and actors (such as Vittorio Sermonti). Following a decade of experience as a collaborative pianist and score coach, he currently teaches Collaborative Piano at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan. He has recorded for various productions, including Ghedini’s mélodies in a duo setting and Liszt’s melologue Lenore on a piano once owned by the composer.
