Alberto Ferro graduated at Istituto Bellini in in Catania with Epifanio Comis and attended courses with Jorg Demus and Vladimir Ashkenazy.

Winner of the 2nd prize at Busoni Competition in Bolzano, of the 6th prize of Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels, and of the 1st prize at Beethoven Competition in Bonn, he gave concerts for the Unione Musicale di Torino, the GOG of Genoa, the Società dei Concerti and the Società del Quartetto in Milan.

He performed in important halls (Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Sala Verdi at the Conservatory in Milan, Herkulessaal in Munich, BOZAR in Brussels, Gewandhaus in Leipzig), in recital and with important orchestras (Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Orchestra Haydn of Bolzano e Trento , Filarmonica of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, National Orchestra of Belgium) conducted by Marin Alsop, Christian Zacharias and others.
