Born in 1997 in Usti nad Labem (Czech Republic), Robert Bily began to study piano at the age of 6. From 2003 to 2007 he had piano lessons with Margarita Gebhardt in Halle (Saale), Germany. From 2007 to 2014 he has studied with Dirk Fischbeck at the August Hermann Francke Latina Grammar School (music section) in Halle (Saale). He also had regular piano lessons with Gerald Fauth at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ in Leipzig from 2012 to 2014, where he proceeded his training as a student of Jacques Ammon. Currently, Robert is continuing his education with Pavel Gililov at the Mozarteum Salzburg. In addition, Robert also attended piano masterclasses and had consultations with Georg Steinschaden, Vladimir Genin, Elisabeth Eschwé, Emanuel Ax, Barry Douglas, Arie Vardi, Pavel Gililov, Daejin Kim, Robert Levin, Wolfgang Manz, Vincenzo Balzani, Arkadi Zenzipér, Claudio Martinez Mehner and Prof. Gerald Fauth.

Robert is an award winner of numerous national and international competitions, including:

  • National Bach Competition in 2009 (Köthen, Germany);
  • International Steinway Piano Competition in 2013 (Hamburg, Germany):
  • International Piano Competition “Young Pianists of the North” in 2013 (Newcastle, England);
  • Thuringian Lions Music Competition in 2013 (Germany);
  • Little Robert Schumann Competition for Young Pianists in 2014 (Zwickau, Germany);
  • Roman Llull Rotary Club Piano Competition in 2014 (Palma de Mallorca, Spain).
  • the 1st prize at the Troisdorf International Piano Competition (2014);
  • the prestigious Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists, where he was also awarded the EMCY special prize;
  • the prize in the international IBCA competition in Düsseldorf (Germany) as the youngest contestant (2015);
  • the 1st prize and Grand Prix in the international contest “Young Talents & Orchestra” in Barlassina/Milan (Italy);
  • the 1st prize and Grand Prix in the Tadini International Music Competition in Lovere (Italy)
  • the 2nd prize at the competition “Eurovision Young Musicians” in Cologne (Germany) (2016).
  • He was also one of the 10 winners out of more than 900 participants at the International Summer Academy 2014 of the Mozarteum Salzburg.

He participated as a soloist at many music festivals including Salzburg Festival, GeorgFriedrich-Händel Festspiele and Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival.

He has given concerts with orchestras such as Bacau Mihail Jora Philharmonic Orchestra, Jugendsinfonieorchester Sachsen-Anhalt, Staatskapelle Halle in prestigious halls including Georg-Friedrich-HändelHalle in Halle (Saale), Die Glocke in Bremen, Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, Philharmonic Berlin, the Berlin Philharmonie, and Teatro dal Verme in Milan.

e has already performed in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Italy, England, Spain, and Norway.
