Bio
Baritone Yohan John Ji started his academic studies at the Kaywon Arts High School. He completed his vocal training at Korea’s highest ranked university, Seoul National University (Bachelor) and at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg(Master). While studying in Germany, he has already created experience as a leading role in Germany, including Don Giovanni[Don Giovanni], La Bohème[Marcello], Le nozze di Figaro[Conte] etc. Above all, He made his debut in the title role ‘Belcore’ ; L’elisir d’amore(G.Donizetti) at the Staatstheater Nürnberg in last May.. Over the course of his career, he has worked with many masters in different areas of music, representatively he participated as an alumni at the Georg Solti Accademia di Bel Canto in Italy. He joined in Masterclasses with various conductors, vocalists and coaches, such as Maestro Richard Bonynge, KS Brigitte Fassbaender, KS Edda Moser, Barbara Frittoli, Roberto Frontali, Jonathan Papp and many more. He recently stood out by receiving the 3rd Prize at the Wilhelm Stenhammar International Music Competition(WFIMC) held in the Sweden.
