Bio

Korean tenor Jaewon Jung graduated from Seoul National University in 2016 and in 2022 he completed his master’s degree with Prof. Snezana Stamenkovic at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts. And he will also continue to study postgraduate studies for solo education and at the same time he will work at the Kaiserslautern Theater as an opera studio member. He was selected for a Richard Wagner Scholarship in 2019. He won First Prize at the 13th Opera Singing Competition ”Grandi Voci” 2022 in Salzburg, Austria, Third Prize at the 6th International Toscanini Competition 2021 and Second Prize and Special Prize at the 2019 Città di Alcamo Competition in Italy. In Concert, he sang in “Jewels of the Opera“ with the Dresden Residence Orchestra in Dresden in 2018 and he performed in the Vocal Ensemble of the Opera La gazzetta at Theater Frankfurt in 2020. In July 2021, he made his debut as Don José of the Opera Carmen at the Junge Oper Schloss Weikersheim in Germany and he made with title role of debut in the opera Les Contes d’Hoffmann in March 2022 in Maastricht, Netherlands.
