Bio
Bass-baritone David Kahng is a native of Cheonan, South Korea. His most recent engagement was with Wolf Trap Opera as Studio Artist. His most recent appearances include a debut at the Filene Center with Wolf Trap Opera, the role of “Shiro” in the opera at the Houston Grand Opera, with On site opera, “Howard” in Missy Mazzoli’s new opera, “Dulcamara” in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore at the Seoul Geumcheon-gu Art Hall, “Leporello” in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and “Don Alfonso” in Mozart’s Così fan tutte in Seoul, South Korea. He was a semifinalist in the NYIOP Premiere opera Foundation International Competition and received an Encouragement Award at the Metropolitan Competition Georgia District. He will join the Mannes School of Music as a Professional Studies Diploma student studying with Willam Burden and Joshua Greene. He received his master’s degree from Mannes and his bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University.
