Bio
Korean bass David Minseok Kang was born in Seoul in 1993. After graduating from Kyunghee University with Alfred Kim, he has been studying at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart since 2018, where he completed his Masters in Opera. In 2020/2021 he was engaged again as Kreon in Leo Dick’s ANTIGONE- TRIBUNAL as a guest at the Stuttgart State Opera. From the 2022/2023 season, David Kang will be a member of the ensemble of the Hamburg State Opera, where he can be seen as Sarastro/ DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE and Reinmar von Zweter/ TANNHÄUSER. Previously, David was a member of the international opera studio of the Hamburg State Opera and was singing in PELLÉAS ET MÉLISANDE, LA TRAVIATA, TOSCA, PARSIFAL or RIGOLETTO, as well as in LOHENGRIN, MANON LESCAUT and LA LUNA a creation by Lorenzo Romano. His current repertoire includes the important roles of Don Alfonso in COSÌ FAN TUTTE, Sparafucile in RIGOLETTO and Colline in LA BOHÈME.
