Bio

Tenor Jongyoung Kim was born in Busan, South Korea and studied with Prof. Wookyung Kim at Hanyang University in Seoul. He is matriculated with the highest score and graduated with honors. Since November 2020 he has been studying with Prof. Michelle Breedt at the HfMDK Frankfurt and from October he will study Konzertexamen/Meisterkurs at the HfM Freiburg. He was already on stage during his studies in numerous productions, e.g. as Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) and as Ferrando (Cosi fan tutte), as Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore) and as Il Duca of Mantua (Rigoletto). He made his professional debut as Alfredo (La Traviata) in the outdoor theater at Hanyang University in Seoul. He completed his previous training in master classes with Prof. Helmut Deutsch and Prof. Charles Spencer.
