Bio

Mezzo soprano Yewon Kim was born on May 4, 1993 in South Korea, Busan. She started piano lessons when she was four years old and also worked as a Korean children’s choir. She studied bachelor’s vocal music at Pusan National University and studied roles such as Mimi, Santucha, and Netda. She is now studying the master opera degree at the Hochschule für Musik Dresden in Germany. During her master study, she performed many stages with Lieder and opera aria, and also gained many stage experiences as an oratorio soloist. She successfully debuted in Schauspielhaus Kleines Haus Dresden from April to June 2021 in the role of Bradamante of the opera Alcina (G.F.Händel), and in April 2022 in the role of Mrs. Jones of Street Scene (Kurt Weill) She has won many competitions and recently won first place at the MAP International Competition in 2022 and fourth place at the London International Competition.
