Graduated in Ferrara under the guidance of Fabrizio Lanzoni, Matteo Cardelli studied with Paul Badura-Skoda, Benedetto Lupo, Andrei Gavrilov, Andras Schiff, Boris Petrushansky, Pasquale Iannone. He also studied with Mauro Minguzzi, Anton Kernjak, Konstantin Bogino and Filippo Gamba. Winner of the Special Prize for the best performance of a Beethoven Sonata at the XXXI International Piano Competition “Antonio Casagrande”. Finalist at the International Competitions Ferruccio Busoni and “Arcangelo Speranza”. Winner at the Orbetello Piano Competition, XXVIII International Piano Competition City of Albenga, International Piano Competition of Massarosa. In 2019 he made his debut at the Basel Musical Theatre with the Basel Sinfonieorchester, conducted by Joseph Bastian, with the Brahms Concerto No.2, and in 2020 he recorded Mozart’s concerto K271 “Jeune Homme” at the Teatro Palladium in Rome with the Roma Tre Orchestra, conducted by Sieva Borzak. He regularly performs as a soloist and in chamber ensembles in Italy and abroad, including New York, Hong Kong, Lugano (LAC), Basel, Ferrara, Milan, Rome, Perugia, Taranto.
