Jung Eun Séverine Kim, born in 1994 in Seoul, had her first piano lesson at the age of 5. She continued her studies at the pre-college of the Korea National University of Arts and at the Korean National Institute for the Gifted in Arts under the renowned Professor Daejin Kim until she moved to Germany. Since 2011 she has been studying piano and now she’s taking the course of solo piano performance at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover under Professor Bernd Goetzke.
Since 2002, Kim has won several top prizes and achievements in high-placed national and international competitions, e.g. in South Korea, Japan, Germany, USA, Great Britain.
She made her first public recital in 2004, at the age of 10 and her first soloist debut at her age of 12. Ever since she has given recitals, numerous concerts and participated in chamber music concerts. She also played as a soloist with orchestras from all over Korea. In 2010, she was invited to play, as the youngest soloist, at the Seoul Symphony Festival, which takes place in the Seoul Arts Center.
Since 2011 Kim has given various Piano Recitals, Orchestra Concerts and Chamber music Concerts in Germany,UK, France, Poland and the Netherlands. Kim was awarded with a 2-year scholarship from the Chopin association Hannover at their Chopin competition in 2015. During the summer of the same year she took part in the International Music Festival Buxtehude for which she was awarded with the Young Artist Award in 2016. Recently she won the ZF Music Prize 2018 in Germany.
