Bio
South Korean Baritone Taewon Sohn will receive his Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater, & Dance in the spring of 2023, under the tutelage of Tenor Stanford Olsen. Taewon graduated from Catholic University of South Korea, with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, studying with Bass Hye-yeol Han. Taewon has won 4th Place Bronze Award both in National Competitions for New Vocalists 2019, and 2020 Music Education News Concours, and 2nd Place in Haneum Music Competition 2018 in South Korea. Recently Taewon has been in the operatic stage in the role of ‘Pandolfe’ in J.Massenet’s ‘Cendrillon’ with University of Michigan Opera in 2021 November under the baton of Maestro Kirk Severtson and stage direction of Dr. Abbigail Cote.
