Yilan Zhao is a prize winner of several international competitions, including the Marbella International Music Competition, the International Frederick Chopin Competition in Russia and the Kosciuszko Chopin Competition.
Solo appearances include venues as Alice Tully Hall in New York, Palau de la Musica in Barcelona, and the Shanghai Oriental Art Center.
Yilan began to play the piano when she was seven years old. In September 2011, she entered the Juilliard School Pre-College to study with Choong-Mo Kang. She continued her Bachelor’s degree studies at the Juilliard School from 2014 to 2018; during this period she studied with Hung Kuan Chen. Since September 2018, she has been studying with Konstantin Scherbakov at the Zürich University of Arts.
