RENA SHERESHEVSKAYA

A graduate of the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, Rena Shereshevskaya taught for twelve years at its Central Special Music School for Gifted Children, and later headed the piano department at the Ippolitov-Ivanov Institute. In 1993, she moved to France, teaching at the Colmar National Conservatory, the Paris National Superior Music Conservatory, and the Rueil-Malmaison Conservatory. She currently holds a professorship at the Alfred Cortot Superior Music School in Paris.

Awarded the title of “Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres,” she gives masterclasses worldwide at major academies and festivals, including the Roque d’Anthéron, Verbier, and the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid. She serves as a jury member for major international competitions, such as the Long-Thibaud, Géza Anda, Santander, and Montreal.

Her students perform globally in major concert halls, and her studio has produced numerous top prize-winners, including Alexandre Kantorow (1st Prize and Grand Prix at the 2019 Tchaikovsky Competition), Lucas Debargue (4th Prize and Critics’ Prize at the 2015 Tchaikovsky Competition), and Rémi Geniet (2nd Prize at the 2013 Queen Elisabeth Competition). Alongside her pedagogical work, she performs chamber music with internationally renowned artists and in a duo with her daughter, mezzo-soprano Victoria Shereshevskaya. She is also the Artistic Director of the “Artistic Dynasties and Families” festival in France.
