REPERTOIRE

For the Viotti Opera Singing Competition 2025, candidates must submit a program consisting of at least six Opera Arias and, at their discretion, Oratorio Arias, Lieder or Art Songs.

N.B.: Opera arias must be performed in their original language and key and must be sung with the relevant recitative and cabaletta when provided. All pieces presented must be performed from memory.

FIRST ROUND
with piano
(maximum duration 12 minutes)
Candidates will perform a program of two opera arias of their choice from the six presented.

SEMIFINAL
with piano
(minimum duration 10 minutes – maximum 15 minutes)
A recital program of the candidate’s choice consisting of pieces other than those performed in the first round.
The recital program must not contain more than two pieces by the same author. At least one of the pieces must be an Opera Aria.
Each candidate shall choose the order of performance of his/her program.

FINALE
with orchestra
The candidate will sing a program of two opera arias chosen by the jury from among those presented.

The submitted program may be modified on the page of the online application form no later than 10 September 2025. The Competition Secretariat, if necessary, may ask candidates for a copy of the score of some of the proposed music.
