ULISSE MAZZON
Ulisse Mazzon, born in San Donà di Piave in 1999, is a violinist and winner of international competitions (“City of Padua” Prize 2020, “Massimo Marin” Competition 2022, “City of Treviso” Competition 2022, Capri “Gubitosi” Competition 2023). He has performed as a soloist with the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto, the Arrigoni String Academy, the orchestra of the University of Graz/Oberschützen, the Bacau Philharmonic Orchestra, the Master Orchestra of Brescia, the Kyiv Virtuosi Orchestra and the Nuova Orchestra Busoni, with which he recorded W. A. Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 1 K 207 in 2020. A former pupil of Prof. Regina Brandstätter at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz-Oberschutzen, having graduated from high school, at the age of 19 he was admitted to the Orchesterakademie der Wiener Philharmoniker, thanks to which he currently plays, as a substitute, with the Vienna Philharmonic and famous musicians (Harding, Gergiev, Thielemann, Dudamel, Kissin, Muti, Baremboim, Welser-Möst, etc. ) in the world’s most important theaters (Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, Théatre des Champs-Elysées, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Carnegie Hall, Tokyo Suntory Hall, Salzburger großes Festspielhaus, etc.), recording for radio and TV broadcasters and record labels such as Orf, Rai, Sony, Deutsche Grammophon. Encouraged by artists such as Kavakos, Repin, Honeck, Midori, Frischenschlager and considered to possess “great musical and technical qualities: magnificent intonation, warm and powerful sound, brilliant technique, pure musicality” (S. Accardo), he continued his musical training with Albena Danailova, Konzertmeister of the Vienna Philharmonic (MDW in Vienna), with Maestro Salvatore Accardo (Stauffer Academy in Cremona) and with Maestro Pavel Berman (Perosi Academy in Biella). Often an orchestral Konzertmeister, he is also active in chamber music, where he has shared the stage with Maestros such as Giuranna and Meneses, as well as siblings Maria Mafalda Mazzon (cello) and Raimondo Mazzon (organ, harpsichord, piano).
