Anton Mejias started playing the piano at the age of five. In 2010 Anton moved to Sibelius Academy youth department where he studied with Teppo Koivisto and Niklas Pokki. Currently Anton studies at the Curtis Institute of Music with Gary Graffman and Ignat Solzhenitsyn. Anton has worked with conductors such as Klaus Mäkelä, Lawrence Renes, Johannes Gustavsson, Ville Matvejeff and Johannes Zahn. As a soloist Anton has recently debuted with orchestras such as the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Jyväskylä Sinfonia and Pori City Orchestra. In February 2019 Anton Mejias won first prize at the 9th Nordic Piano Competition in Arvika, Sweden, as a unanimous decision by the jury – being only 17 years old and the youngest competitor.
