Oleksii Kanke was born in Kiev in a family of musicians. He made his first steps as a pianist at Music School in the class of Inna Tkachenko when he was 14, and then continued his studies at the Kiev Secondary Specialized Music School “M. Lysenko” in the class of Professor Natalia Gridneva. He is currently studying at the University for music and Performing Arts (Austria) in the class of Professor Milana Cherniavskaya, and is a scholar and a regular contributor of the International Music Academy in the Principality of Liechtenstein and a Vere Music Foundation scholarship.

Oleksii is the winner of many international competitions, including “Juries in Competition” (Austria, 2019), First International Music Competition in Vienna (Austria, 2019), International Competition for Young pianists competition in Ettlingen (Germany 2018), the Val Tidone International Music Competition (Italy 2018), the International Vladimir Horowitz Memorial Competition (Kiev. 2016), the International Piano Competition in memory of Emil Gilels (Odessa, 2015), Astana Piano Passion (Kazakhstan, 2013), International Competition for Young Pianists “Step to Excellence” (St. Petersburg, 2013).

As a soloist, Oleksii performed with the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor M. Stravinsky, the National Presidential Orchestra of Ukraine, conductor Dmitry Sytkovetsky, the Orestrom Kyiv Camerata, conductor V.Matyukhin, and the Orchestra of the Kyiv Philharmonic, conductor M. Diadyura.
