YILEI HAO

Born in 1996, Yilei Hao began studying piano at age five. In 2023, he earned his doctorate from the Central Conservatory of Music, studying with Yuan Wu, Dan Shao, and Danwen Wei, and refining his skills with Norma Fisher and Dang Thai Son. Recognized among China’s brightest young pianists, he won second prize at the Scottish International Piano Competition (2023), was named among the top ten young Chinese pianists, and is the only pianist to win the Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music twice. He also won second prize at the Harbin Competition and first prize at the Thymis Competition in Greece. Active as a soloist and chamber musician, he has collaborated with major orchestras including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, working with conductors such as Hannu Lintu and David Niemann. He is currently an associate professor at the Wuhan Conservatory of Music.
