MAYA OGANYAN

 

Maya Oganyan was born in Moscow, began studying the piano at the age of four, and graduated with top honors and a special mention from the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice under Massimo Somenzi and Olaf John Laneri. Winner of over 20 national and international competitions, at age 17 she became the youngest recipient of 2nd Prize in the history of the Verona International Piano Competition, where she also received the Jury Prize and the special award for best female talent. In 2024 she was selected as a student in residence at the Verbier Soloists Academy, and in 2025 she won the annual selection of the prestigious Fondation Gautier Capuçon, followed by an invitation in 2026 to the Lieven Piano Foundation in Vienna. She performs internationally and across Italy with numerous orchestras, including the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra, the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, and the La Fenice Philharmonic Orchestra. An avid chamber musician, she collaborates regularly with prominent artists such as Steven Isserlis, Ian Bostridge, and the Quartetto di Cremona. She refines her artistry under Benedetto Lupo at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome, having previously studied with Lilya Zilberstein, Roberto Prosseda, and Enrico Pace.
