CLAUDIA CERAULO

Claudia Ceraulo holds a Master’s degree in opera from the V. Bellini Conservatory in Catania and participated in the Erasmus+ program at the Fryderyk Chopin University in Warsaw. She has been a member of several young artist programs, including the Scuola dell’Opera del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the YAP Opera Montecarlo, and the YAP Gstaad Menuhin Festival. Her accolades include second prize and a role award at the Fausto Ricci Award (2024), a Special Prize at the Iris Adami Corradetti Competition (2024), the Puccini Award at the Giuditta Pasta Competition (2024), and second prize at the Voci in Barcaccia Rai Radio3 Competition (2023). She has debuted in roles such as Violetta Valéry in La traviata, Oscar in Un ballo in maschera, Sophie in Werther, and Adina in L’elisir d’amore.

The first round combines the French elegance of Manon from Manon, who sings a gavotte full of vivacity and lightheartedness, with Norina’s aria from Don Pasquale, a moment of great lyricism and sprightliness. The semi-final presents a strong dramatic contrast: Violetta’s famous aria from La traviata, “È strano… Sempre libera,” an expression of both desperation and frivolity, in which the protagonist reflects on her life, and Blondchen’s aria from Die Entführung aus dem Serail, a piece of great vocal agility in which the character asserts her indomitable spirit and her resistance to the flattery and tyranny of her captor Osmin.
