DEREN WANG

 

Deren Wang (b. 1997, Tokyo) is a pianist from Japan, based in Germany. He is currently pursuing the Konzertexamen at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar under Prof. Christian-Wilm Müller while also studying privately with Hideyo Harada. Previously, he studied with Prof. Grigory Gruzman in Weimar and Prof. Naum Grubert at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He won First Prize, the Beethoven Sonata Prize, and the Concerto Prize at the Stancic International Piano Competition (2023), Third Prize at the Premio Jaén International Piano Competition (2024), and was selected to compete in the finals of the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition (2019). He performs regularly as a soloist throughout Europe and Japan.
