PIANO 2023: Jury
Florian Wiek received his pianistic training at the Musikhochschule Köln and the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris with Günter Ludwig and Pierre-Laurent Aimard, before completing his studies with Volker Banfield at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg with the concert exam.
He was awarded prizes at various national and international competitions (Prize of the German Music Competition, 1st Prize “Maria Canals / Barcelona). Since then, his activities have taken him to concert halls such as the Berlin and Cologne Philharmonie, the Hamburg Musikhalle, the Beethovenhalle Bonn and others, to numerous festivals and encompass all musical areas from solo recitals, concerts with orchestra and ensemble playing to chamber music with large ensembles and lied. His repertoire includes works from the Baroque to the most recent creations, with an emphasis on the music of the Viennese Classical period. In October 2004, Florian Wiek was appointed professor of piano and piano chamber music at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart.
