GEUNPYO PARK

Geunpyo Park was born in Seoul, South Korea, and began studying the piano at the age of seven. She has received numerous awards at international piano competitions, including the second prize and the audience prize at the Schubert Competition Dortmund, the first prize at the Mozart Competition Mannheim, and the first prize at the Marbella International Piano Competition in Spain. As a soloist, she has performed with the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra at the Konzerthaus Dortmund and with the Hagen Philharmonic Orchestra at the Konzerthaus Detmold, while also appearing as part of a piano duo with the Jyväskylä Sinfonia in Finland. Her solo recital engagements include invitations to the Pianoforte Festival Meissen, the Haydn Festival Brühl, the Marbella Music Festival in Spain, and the concert series “Masterpieces of Piano Music” in Bielefeld. After completing her Bachelor’s degree at Yonsei University under Prof. Yong-ran Han, she continued her studies with Prof. Jacob Leuschner at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, where she earned a Master’s degree in Piano followed by the Konzertexamen, graduating with unanimous distinction. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Piano Duo, and her studies have been supported by scholarships from the Clavarte Foundation and the DAAD PROMOS Program.
