JUN SHIMADA

 

Jun Shimada was born in Tokyo in 2005 and moved to the United States at age 12 to study at The Juilliard Pre-College. In 2025, he entered Juilliard’s undergraduate program on a full scholarship and competed in the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. He is a fellow of the Japan–US Friendship Commission’s 2023–2024 Exchange Friendship Program in the Arts. His awards include the Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford and the Juilliard Pre-College Nordmann and Bachauer Piano Competition (Nordmann Prize). He has studied under Hung-Kuan Chen at The Juilliard School since 2017 and has received artistic guidance from Eric Lu, Kate Liu, and Mikhail Voskresensky.
