Simonetta Tancredi

A Neapolitan pianist, she holds degrees in piano, harpsichord, choir and choral music conducting, ensemble music and conducting. She has been invited several times by the Teatro San Carlo in Naples for the Chamber Music season and has given concerts not only in Italy but also in Frankfurt, Belgrade, Oita (Japan), Kuala Lumpur, New York, Lugano, Budapest, Krakow, Katowice, Mumbai, Pune (India), Buenos Aires, Lima, Koroni (Greece), Canberra, Melbourne, and Moscow. Among her partners are the names of Francesco Manara and Francesco de Angelis, Rodolfo Bonucci, Andrea Tacchi, Massimo Quarta, Quartetto Foné, Quartetto d’Archi della Scala, I Virtuosi del Teatro alla Scala, Rolando Villazon, Angela Gheorghiu, Barbara Frittoli, José Carreras, Andrea Bocelli, Placido Domingo, and she has given masterclasses with Renato Bruson, Bruno Praticò, Mariella Devia, Cesare Siepi, Giuseppe di Stefano. She has been invited several times by the following institutions: Circolo Portuense Opera in Oporto (Portugal), Arena di Verona, “Ravenna Festival,” Fondazione “Arturo Toscanini ” in Parma, Teatro Lirico in Treviso, Ravello Festival, Associazione Scarlatti. She has collaborated with conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Lorin Mazeel, Riccardo Chailly, Kazushi Ono, Vasily Petrenko, Roberto Abbado, Nello Santi, Vladimir Jurowski, Mstislav Rostropovic, Carlo Maria Giulini. She has been invited as accompanist pianist to the following International Opera Competitions: Giuseppe di Stefano of Trapani , Voci Verdiane of Busseto, Viotti of Vercelli. As an expert on Italian opera, she is invited by Peking University Academy of Opera. She currently holds the chair of Chamber Music at the D.Cimarosa Conservatory of Music in Avellino, and from 1996 to 2008 she was Maestro di Sala e Palcoscenico at Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
