Saebeom Lee

PIANO 2023: Competitor

 

Saebeom Lee is a 27-year-old pianist from Seoul, Korea. He has won several competitions: grand prize at the Korean Liszt Competition (2013) and first prize at the Seoul High School Competition (2013). He also won first prize at the Sungjung National Competition (2013), first prize at the CBS Competition (2012) and second prize at the Korean Chopin Competition (2010). In 2014, having won the Grand Prize in the Korean Liszt Competition, he was offered to perform a Recital in the Concert Hall of the Liszt Museum in Budapest, Hungary. Lee was also a semifinalist in the Sendai International Competition in Japan and the Tbilisi International Competition in Georgia in 2022. He has participated in many major competitions so far, such as ARD, Long Thibaud, Busoni, Seoul, and Sendai. Lee attended and graduated from Yewon Arts Middle School, Seoul Arts High School, studied with Ian Yungwook Yoo at Yonsei University, and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with Professor Björn Lehmann at Universität der Künste Berlin. He is currently studying Konzertexamen at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock with Professor Matthias Kirschnereit.
