YONGQIU LIU

Pianist Yongqiu Liu made her Carnegie Hall concerto debut with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in 2024, and has appeared as soloist with the Minnesota Orchestra, Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra, Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Serbia, Royal Symphony Orchestra of Morocco, Busan KNN Symphony Orchestra, Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra, and Illyrian Symphony Orchestra, among others. She has worked with esteemed conductors such as Benjamin Zander, Charles Olivieri-Munroe, Gábor Hollerung, Anar Bramo, Bojan Suđić, and Sergey Smbatyan. She is a top prizewinner of multiple international competitions, including the Malta International Piano Competition (currently known as “Dubai Classic”), IJMC Belgrade International Piano Competition, Heida Hermanns International Piano Competition, OPM Morocco International Piano Competition, ASU Gammage / Bosendorfer International Piano Competition, Minnesota E-Competition, International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, and New York Liszt International Competition. Yongqiu holds a Master’s Degree from the Yale School of Music and a Bachelor’s Degree from the New England Conservatory, both awarded with full scholarships. She is currently a Doctoral candidate at New York University, where she serves as an Adjunct Faculty member in Piano Studies. Her teachers include Ting Zhou, Zhe Tang, Wha Kyung Byun, Alexander Korsantia, Boris Slutsky, Boris Berman, and Eduardus Halim.
