Yuewen Yu, born in Quzhou city, Zhejiang Province, began to play piano at the age of six, under the guidance of Geping Jin. He moved to Shanghai in 2010 and has studied at the Primary Music School and Middle Music School affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music in the class of Qi Zhang, Prof. Shuo Huang and Prof.Yunlin Yang. After completing his studies in Shanghai in 2019, he was admitted to the University of Music, Drama and Media in Hanover in the same year and study with Prof. Alexander Schimpf.

Prizes: 15th Ettlingen International Piano Competition for Young Pianists 3rd Prize (2016 Germany); 11th Adilia Alieva International Piano Competition, 2nd Prize and Diplôme de vituosité (2017, France-Switzerland), Boya National Piano Competition, Gold Medal (2018) Aachen MozArte International Piano Competition, 3rd Prize (2020) Orbetello International Piano Competition, 1st Prize (2022).
